The Emopathyse Art Therapy Institute is based on the act of Emopathysing (the verb), which means replacing the act of simply looking with an active, empathetic gaze that engages the body, emotions, and consciousness. This practice aims to transform perception into a relational ethic capable of producing restorative effects, both individual and collective.
The principle of Emopathyse, understood as an ethics of observation and relationship aimed at perceiving the other, oneself, and the environment with empathetic and emotional attention.
The genesis of the project:
“EMOPATHYSE was born from my journey as an artist-researcher, nourished by an academic exploration of image, identity, and memory, and by a profound personal experience of therapy through art and film. Convinced that art acts as a true space for healing, I have developed a practice where observation, creation, and emotion become tools for inner transformation. The project has thus been built as an artistic and therapeutic discipline aiming to emopathize others, places, and situations in order to sustainably transform ways of perceiving, communicating, and coexisting.” (S.C.)
EATI Empathy Art Therapy Institute is based on an empathic, emotional and non-coercive approach, where the act of empathizing becomes a means of deep understanding of the other and of oneself. The institute is committed to never imposing meaning or truth, but to creating conditions where reflection and expression emerge naturally in the participants.
